Abstract:

One of the most important subjects in food safety is monitoring of pesticide residue in food. Excess and unwiseness use of pesticides will lead to pesticide accumulation in food. The chemicals are known to be carcinogenic for human beings. For this reason monitoring of pesticide residue in food plays an important role in food safety.
In present survey we analysed 4 types of apples including: Golden apple, verity of sweet-smelling apple of Samerom, Kermanshah and Meshkinshahr. After sampling we mixed the samples, then extraction based on modified EU method was carried out and clean up with column chromatography column filled with silicagel and anhydrous sodium solfate was done. Finally we determined organophosfate pesticide (Chloropyrifos, Diazinon, Malathion) with use of GC and TCD detector and Permerine with use of FID detector. Selection of these pesticides has been based on agricultural reports on mostly used pesticides for apple trees. Our results compared with MRL's codex 2000. It has shown that there wasn't Diazinon contamination in none of them. Permethrin contamination existed in all of samples but lower than MRL. Chlorpyrifos residue in Golden and Meshkinshahr apples are observed a little more than MRL. Finally Malathion contamination observed in all of the samples except of Samerom apple and this contamination was more than MRL only in Kermanshah apple.  Our results indicate that pesticide residues in analyzed samples are not very general is it also should be pointed out that this survey is limited on samples of same regions of the country and can not be extrapolated to whole country.
