Abstract: 

THE CONVENTIONAL METHODS OF PIPELINE REPAIR AND REHABILITATION INCLUDE EXCAVATION AND REPLACING THE DAMAGED PART OF THE PIPE OR APPLYING STEEL SLEEVES ON THAT PART. PARAMETERS SUCH AS HIGH COST, TIME CONSUMING AND SHUTTING DOWN THE PRODUCT HAVE BEEN FACED THESE METHODS TO A LOT OF CHALLENGES. UNCERTAINTY OF CURRENT REPAIR METHODS MAKES IT CRUCIAL TO DEVELOP A FAST, RELIABLE, ECONOMIC AND SAFE PROCEDURE FOR PIPELINE REPAIR AND REHABILITATION. THIS SERIOUS DEMAND HAS BEEN LEAD TO USE THE CAPABILITIES AND POTENTIALS OF THE POLYMER MATRIX COMPOSITES. THE UNIQUE CHARACTERISTIC OF USING THESE MATERIALS AS REPAIR AND REHABILITATION SYSTEM IS PROTECTING THE PIPE FROM SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENTS AND AS A CONSEQUENCE, STOPPING THE ADVANCEMENT OF CORROSION. THE SHORT TIME OF INSTALLATION, LOW MATERIAL CONSUMPTION AND HUMAN RESOURCES, EASY SETUP, NO NEED OF REPLACEMENT, AND POSSIBILITY OF APPLYING ON THE IN-SERVICE PIPELINES HAVE BEEN MADE THIS METHOD AFFORDABLE. APPLICATION OF THIS COMPOSITE MATERIAL ON METALLIC PIPELINES IS CONCEIVABLE FOR DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS AND PIPELINE SIZES. THIS REPAIRING METHOD HAS NO CONSIDERABLE EFFECT ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE ORIGINAL PIPE, AS WELL AS REINFORCING THE PIPE. IN THIS INVESTIGATION, THE ENHANCED PROPERTIES OF THIS REHABILITATION SYSTEM AND VARIOUS DESIGNING PARAMETERS OF THAT HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED.
