Abstract: 

WATER TREATMENT BY MAGNETIC FIELD (MF) AND INVESTIGATION OF ITS EFFECTS ON DIFFERENT MECHANISM IS AN ATTRACTIVE BUT STILL CONTROVERSIAL ISSUE. THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE PRESENT STUDY WAS TO INVESTIGATE WHETHER OR NOT MAGNETIC FIELD TREATED WATER (MFTW) INCREASE THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT (HTC) IN A PILOT SHELL AND TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER. THE EXPERIMENTS RESULTS SHOWED THAT WHEN MFTW WAS USED THE HTC HAS BETTER EFFICIENCY WHEN COMPARED WITH FRESH WATER OR UNTREATED WATER.TO ENSURE IN RESULTS EXPERIMENTS WERE DONE FOR MANY TIMES AND AVERAGE RESULTS ARE REPORTED.
