THIS PAPER PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF SIMULATING AN OIL SPILL IN THE LAVAN ISLAND IN THE PERSIAN GULF. THE CASE STUDY IS BALAL PLATFORM LOCATED AT ONE HUNDRED KILOMETERS FROM THE SOUTH OF LAVAN ISLAND. IN THIS STUDY, MIKE21 MODEL HAS BEEN USED IN TWO MODULES: HYDRODYNAMIC AND SPILL ANALYSIS. GENERAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS OF THE REGION WERE FIRST SETUP INTO THE HYDRODYNAMIC MODULE USING DATA FROM DIFFERENT SOURCES. IN THE SECOND PART, SPILL ANALYSIS MODEL WAS RUN USING THE FLOW FIELD PRODUCED FROM THE HYDRODYNAMIC SIMULATION. OIL SPILL MODELING WAS PERFORMED AT THE TRANSMISSION PIPELINE ROUTE FROM BALAL PLATFORM TO LAVAN ISLAND UNDER DIFFERENT WIND CONDITIONS. RESULTS INDICATE THAT IF A REAL OIL SPILL OCCURS AT THE PIPELINE FROM BALAL PLATFORM TO LAVAN ISLAND UNDER WIND WITH 8M/S SPEED AND DIRECTION OF 215 DEGREE, THE NORTH COASTLINE OF THE PERSIAN GULF FROM CHIROUYEH PORT TO JAZEH PORT WILL BE EXPOSED TO OIL POLLUTION, SO RISK ASSESSMENT AND PLANNING FOR SUITABLE RESPONSE IN NORTH COASTAL WATER OF PERSIAN GULF IS NECESSARY.
