Abstract: 

IN ONE DRILLING OPERATION, CONSIDERING THE MEAN DIAMETER OF WELL EQUAL TO 12 INCHES PER METER OF WELL DEPTH, 0.07 M3 OF DUG DRILLING MATERIALS IS OBTAINED. THUS, IT CAN BE EXPECTED THAT THE DUG MATERIALS ABOUT 70 TO 490 M3 IS ENTERED INTO ENVIRONMENT IN DRILLING THE OIL WELLS TO DEPTHS ABOUT 1000 TO 7000 M. OF COURSE WE MUST ALSO ADD THE DRILLING MUD VOLUME TO THESE FIGURES THAT THIS ITSELF HAS THE SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS. ON THE OTHER HAND, THE COMPOUNDS WITHIN DRILLING FLUID HAVE EACH ONE THE EFFECTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT THAT THE TYPE AND AMOUNT OF EFFECT DEPENDS ON THE CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF MATERIALS. HENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS DUE TO DISCHARGING THE DRILLING RESIDUE ACROSS THE VARIOUS ENVIRONMENTS CANNOT BE DENIED AND ON THE OTHER HAND, GIVEN THE INCREASING SIGNIFICANCE OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS AND ALSO THE WIDE RANGE OF DRILLING OPERATIONS AROUND THE COUNTRY, IT IS NECESSARY TO MANAGE THESE RESIDUES. SO, IN THIS STUDY, TO LOCATE THE DRILLING OPERATIONS RESIDUES OF MANSOURI OIL FIELD LOCATED IN KHUZESTAN PROVINCE HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT USING GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS) AND ANALYTICAL HIERARCHICAL PATTERN THE PARAMETERS WHICH WERE STUDIED IN DETERMINING THE SITE TO BURY THE RESIDUES INVOLVE FOUR CRITERIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, SOCIOCULTURAL AND TECHNICAL- ECONOMIC FACTORS AND ALSO INCLUDE EFFECTIVE 13 SUB CRITERIONS. AFTER WEIGHTING EACH OF CRITERIONS, THE RELATIVE WEIGHT OF CRITERIONS IN PROPORTION TO EACH OTHER WAS DETERMINED USING (AHP). SPECIFIED SCORES WAS APPLIED TO INFORMATION LAYERS PROVIDED IN THE GIS SETTING, BASED ON WHICH APPROPRIATE SITES FOR BURYING THE RESIDUE WERE DETERMINED. FINALLY, SELECTED SITES WERE EXAMINED AND THE MOST APPROPRIATE SITES WERE PRIORITIZED.
