Abstract: 

Petrophysical evaluation of oil and gas reservoirs has an important role in precise understanding of them. Parameters such as porosity, permeability and facies are one of the most important properties of reservoir that can be obtained from core study. However, in a hydrocarbon field all of the wells have not cores. This is not just for expensive costs of coring and measurement of helium porosity and permeability, in some wells such as horizontal wells, the coring procedure is not possible. But the log data is prepared for all wells. Therefore, applying the methods, which can predict petrophysical parameters from log data, are very useful.
In this study, fuzzy logic has been used as a new approach to predict porosity, permeability and rock types in one of the hydrocarbon reservoirs, southern Iran. The results show that fuzzy logic has been successful in predicting these parameters.
