Abstract: 

EFFECTS OF PULSE ELECTROCODEPOSITION PARAMETERS ON THE STRUCTURAL AND SURFACE MORPHOLOGY OF THESE COATINGS IN PRESENCE OF TIO2 NANOPARTICLE WERE INVESTIGATED. A SMALL AMOUNT OF TIO2 NANOPARTICLE (DIAMETER 20-50 NM) THAT WAS SYNTHESIZED VIA CHEMICAL VAPOUR SYNTHESIS (CVS) ADDED INTO THE TRADITIONAL ELECTROPLATING NI SOLUTION, LEADING TO THE FORMATION OF NI-TIO2 NANO COMPOSITE COATINGS. PHASE STRUCTURE, SURFACE MORPHOLOGY AND THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF THE TIO2 NANOPARTICLE AND NI-TIO2 NANO COMPOSITE COATINGS WERE STUDIED USING X-RAY DIFFRACTION (XRD), TRANSMISSION ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (TEM), ¬¬SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (SEM) AND ENERGY DISPERSIVE SPECTROSCOPY (EDAX).THE INFLUENCES OF THE CURRENT DENSITY, AND DUTY CYCLE IN THE PRESENCE OF TIO2 NANOPARTICLES IN THE PLATING BATH, ON THE SURFACE MORPHOLOGY AND MICROSTRUCTURE OF NANO COMPOSITE COATINGS WERE INVESTIGATED. THE SURFACE MORPHOLOGY AND MICROSTRUCTURE OF THE NICKEL MATRIX WAS SIGNIFICANTLY INFLUENCED BY THE CODE POSITION OF TIO2 NANOPARTICLES. THE NI NODULE GRANULAR AND TRADITIONAL PYRAMID-LIKE SHAPE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE COLUMNAR STRUCTURE AS WELL AS THE GRAIN SIZE OF NI WAS ALSO SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED.
