Abstract: 

THIS PAPER PRESENTS THE EFFECT OF SALINITY OF INJECTION WATER ON OIL RECOVERY IN WATER FLOODING PROCESS. IN THIS STUDY NACL ADDED TO WATER TO MAKE BRINE. THE MAIN PURPOSE IS SURVEY FOR EFFECT OF BRINE CONCENTRATION ON OIL RECOVERY. TO OBSERVATION OF THIS EFFECT WE WERE PERFORMED CORE FLOODING EXPERIMENTS WITH CORE FLOODING APPARATUS. REQUIREMENT MATERIALS ARE DIFFERENT BRINE SAMPLES FROM 30000-200000PPM CONCENTRATION AND ONE ACTUAL WATER SAMPLE, CORE SAMPLE AND OIL SAMPLE. THE EXPERIMENTS WERE CONDUCTED AT THE 23OC AND A NET OVERBURDEN PRESSURE OF 1700PSI USING CHESHME KHOSH FIELD CORE SAMPLE. SINCE THE CORE WAS PLACED IN APPARATUS DIFFERENT CONCENTRATION OF BRINES WERE USED AS DISPLACEMENT FLUID. THE RESULTS OF THIS STUDY HAVE BEEN SHOWN OIL RECOVERY INCREASES AS THE INJECTED WATER SALINITY UP TO 200000PPM AND APPOINTMENT OPTIMUM SALINITY. THIS INCREASE HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE SUPPORTED BY DECREASE IN THE IFT. THIS AFFECT WAS CAUSED TO REDUCTION IN CAPILLARY PRESSURE AND INCREASING THE TENDENCY TO REDUCTION OF RESIDUAL OIL SATURATION.
