Abstract: 

Considering the importance of wettability in oil production, the effect of water-based mud filtrates on reservoir rock minerals was investigated. This study was performed on quartz and calcite minerals’ using the contact angle method. This investigation was carried on the experimental design method. In the study BIOVIS and Ester increased the contact angle of 3% salty water droplet on both minerals. Thus, it can be predicted that, in high concentrations of these materials, wet ability approaches neutral and oil-wet state and reduces the efficiency of oil recovery during exploitation. Also, by using the statistical analysis, the optimum composition of drilling mud was introduced.
