Abstract: 

Based on the original design of the Sarcheshmeh copper complex, the recovery of rougher flotation cells for a feed assaying 1.17% Cu and a concentrate with a grade of 7.6% Cu is 96%. Presently due to a decreased feed grade of 0.9% Cu, the average recovery has fallen down to 85.6%. In order to determine the maximum achievable recovery for the current situation in the rougher flotation cells, various floatability analyses such as release and tree analyses were investigated. The main objective of these analyses is to provide an ideal grade-recovery relationship which is independent of the operating conditions tested. The tree analysis was found to be more appropriate compared to the other analyses to define the maximum recovery. The results of tree analysis indicated that at the present conditions reaching to a recovery of 91% for a concentrate with a grade of 7-9% Cu in the rougher flotation cells is possible.
