Abstract: 

This study investigated the effect of mechanical preparation of chalcopyrite concentrate on copper leaching efficiency through the use of a high energy ball mill for the mechanical preparation of chalcopyrite, using a ferric chloride solution for the leaching. Mechanical Preparation of concentrate improved the leaching efficiency. Increase of time between milling and leaching stages caused to decrease of leaching rate. In this research, relation between milling effect coefficient and milling time was calculated. The milling effect coefficient had considerable values in initial milling times and exponentially decreased with increase of milling time.
