Abstract: 

The ore in the Gol-E-Gohar iron ore dressing plant contains a high content of sulphur. As a result, of the important goals of this plant is to gain the high recovery and iron grade with a maximum of 0.13 percent sulphur content. The most important of separation stage in dry magnetic separation system is cleaner stage. The result showed, that the particles greater than 1000 micron has conveyed to the final product. Because of the coarse particles has been flocculate by magnetic thin particle. The high content of iron as well as sulphur for particles greater than 1000 microns and low and high content of iron and sulphur respectively for particles less than 45 micron. The particles -500+125 micron granularity contains the high content of iron and the low sulphur content. The most important factor to increase sulphur content was found to be the texture of the ore.
The entrainment of tiny un-magnetic particles, flocculation of magnetic particles and gunge particles by fine magnetic particles (middling) and magnetic coating were the most important problems in dry magnetic separation.
