Abstract: 

PARKINSON’S DISEASE IS A DISORDER OF NEUROMUSCULAR SYSTEM, WHICH HAS EFFECTS SUCH AS SLOWNESS OF VOLUNTARY MOVEMENTS, RIGIDITY, DECREMENT OF PRECISION OF MOVEMENTS, AND TREMOR. IN THIS PAPER WE SIMULATE IT USING A MODEL OF A JOINT, CONSISTING OF AGONIST AND ANTAGONIST MUSCLES, EFFERENT SIGNALS, AND SPINAL FEEDBACK LOOPS. RIGIDITY AND TREMOR ARE THE CONDITIONS WE CONSIDER. DIFFERENT THEORIES OF THE CAUSE OF PARKINSONIAN EFFECTS SUCH AS TREMOR ARE CENTRAL OSCILLATOR THEORY AND PERIPHERAL FEEDBACK THEORY. IN ADDITION TO THESE TWO THEORIES, WE STUDY EFFECTS OF CHANGES OF THE GD/GS RATIO AND GAIN OF B FEEDBACK LOOP, AND SHOW THAT DISORDER IN THESE PARAMETERS CAN CAUSE PARKINSONIAN CONDITIONS.
