Abstract: 

IN THIS PAPER CONCENTRATION OF ULTRASONIC WAVES FOR THE PURPOSE OF HYPERTHERMIA TREATMENT OF CANCEROUS TISSUES IS STUDIED. A CONCAVE TRANSDUCER FOR THE RADIATION OF ULTRASONIC WAVES HAS BEEN DESIGNED WHICH HAS THE ABILITY OF FOCUSING WAVES IN A FOCAL ZONE. DUE TO THE HEALTHY TISSUES SENSITIVENESS TO TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS, THE NONLINEAR ACOUSTIC PRESSURE EQUATION HAS BEEN USED TO CALCULATE THE ACOUSTIC PRESSURE IN THE FOCAL REGION. ALSO TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN THE FOCAL ZONE HAS BEEN STUDIED USING PENNES’ BIO-HEAT TRANSFER EQUATION. CERVIX CANCEROUS TISSUES HAS BEEN CHOSEN TO STUDY AND THE RESULTS OUT OF STUDY AND SIMULATION OF FOCUSING ULTRASONIC WAVES HAS BEEN MENTIONED.
