Abstract: 

Recently Computational Fluid Dynamics has found wide applications in different engineering branches. One of the main advantages of CFD is simulating of complex process. CFD is on the basis of fluid mechanics theories and according to development of related software’s the users can do a considerable amount of calculations. Ball mills are considered as grinding equipments that have different applications in some industries, which are related to mining, chemical and metallurgical engineering.
Investigations were indicated that many mechano-chemical processes were done in ball milling media that provided considerable complexity. Generally there are three main components in grinding that are known as cattaracting, cascading and friction. To achieve optimized condition the cascading role should be increased and oppositely cascading should be decreased.
In recent paper the manner of pulp as a type of fluid, was simulated by CFD in cattaracting zone of ball mill. Regarding to CFD simulation results the variations of viscosity, pressure, velocity and temperature against ball charge diameter were analyzed. Consequently, except pressure other variable were indicated increasing trend regarding to ball charge diameter increasing. Also the distribution of each valuable in fluid grids was defined.
