Abstract:

PENILE CANCER IS ONE OF THE RARE CANCER IN THE GENITAL TRACT. CONDYLAMA ACUMINATE ARE BENIGN AND PAPILLARY LESIONS. THEY ARE SOFT, FRIABLE WHICH MAY OCCUR SINGULARLY ON A NARROW PEDICLE OR IN A GRAPE–LIKE CLUSTER ON A SESILE, BROAD BASE IN THE MALE, CONDYLOMATA OCCUR MOST COMMONLY ON THE PREPUCE, THE PENILE SHAFT AND THE GLANS.
THEY HAVE A PREDILECTION FOR THE MOIST, GLABROUS AREAS OF THE GENITAL AND PERINEAL AREAS. IT IS A SEXTUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE CAUSED BY HPV. MALIGNANT TRANSFORMATION OF CONDYLOMATA TO SCC HAS BEEN REPORTED IN RARE CASES. SURGERY IS THE GOLD STANDARD OF THERAPY. IN SMALL LESIONS, COMPLETE TUMOR EXCISION WITH TUMOR FREE MARGINS IN INVASIVE TUMORS RADICAL SURGERY IS NEEDED.
A CASE REPORT
A 56 YEARS OLD MAN PRESENTED WITH A LARGE AND PAINFUL GENITAL MASS. IT WAS A SMALL MAS FROM 35 YEARS AGO WHICH GRADUALLY INCREASED IN SIZE.
IT WAS A LARGE TUNOR (15*17 CM) WITH A FOUL ODOR, DISCHARGE AND A CENTRAL EROSION. THE TUMOR EXTENDED IN THE ANTERIOR AND POSTERIOR OF THE SHAFT. THE GLANS AND SCROTUM WAS NOT INVOLVED. EXCISIONAL BIOPSY CONFIRMED SCC. COMPUTERIZED TOMOGRAPHY (CT) REVEALED NO PELVIC LYMPH NODE METASTASES. THE PATIENT UNDER MENT COMPLETE TUMOR FREE MARGINS. THE PENIS AND TESTES WERE SAVED.
