Abstract:

PURPOSE: UROLOGICAL COMPLICATIONS AFTER KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION INCLUDING STONES, URETERAL STRICTURE AND FOREIGN BODIES ARE TREATABLE BY THE PERCUTANEOUS APPROACH AND WE REPORT SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT OF THESE COMPLICATIONS.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: BETWEEN MAY 2001 AND SEP 2002 WE MANAGED SIX KIDNEY TRANSPLANT PATIENTS WITH STONE, URETHRAL STRICTURE AND FOREIGN BODIES (JJ STENT). CLINICAL SYMPTOMS CASES WAS TRIED, BUT WASN’T SUCCESSFUL.
RESULTS: ALL OF THE PATIENTS WERE MANAGED BY PERCUTANEOUS APPROACH AND FIVE OF CASES DISCHARGED WITH NORMAL SERUM CREATININE. THE PRECIPITATING FACTOR WAS JJ STENT (2), STONES (4) AND URETEROVESICAL ANASTOMOTIC STRICTURE IN (3). ONE CASE SUFFERED REJECTION.
DISCUSSION: ENDOUROLOGICAL MANAGEMENT OF KIDNEY GRAFT REPLACED OPEN SURGERY IN MAJORITY OF PATIENTS, MINIMIZING MORBIDITY AND HOSPITALIZATION.
