Abstract:

PURPOSE: A STUDY OF PROGRESS OF BLADDER NECK SUSPENSION WITH OR WITHOUT VAGINAL ANTERIOR AND POSTERIOR REPAIR IN PATIENTS WHO SUFFER FROM PURE-STRESS URINARY INCONTINENCE BY BOTH GITTES AND SLING METHODS AND THEIR COMPARISON.
METHODS AND MATERIALS: A STUDY WAS MADE ON 109 PATIENTS BETWEEN THE AGE OF 38 TO 51 YEARS WHO HAVE GONE UNDER BLADDER-NECK SUSPENSION OPERATION BY THE FOLLOWING ORDER: GITTES METHOD 36 CASES.
GITTES WITH KELLY PLACATION 28 CASES GITTES METHODS WITH VAGINAL ANTERIOR-POSTERIOR REPAIR 27 CASES.
SLING METHOD USING RECTUS FASCIA 11 CASES SLING METHOD WITH VAGINAL ANTERIOR-POSTERIOR REPAIR 7 CASES.
RESULTS: RETURN OF THE PROBLEM WITHIN ONE TO TWO YEARS OF THE OPERATION IN THE ABOVE FIVE METHODS IS AS FOLLOWS: GITTES METHOD IN THE FIRST YEAR 11 CASES AND 15 CASES IN THE SECOND YEAR.
IN THE SECOND METHOD 4 CASES IN THE FIRST YEAR AND 6 IN THE SECOND YEAR.
IN THE THIRD METHOD 2 CASES IN THE FIRST YEAR AND 3 IN THE SECOND YEAR.
IN THE TWO METHODS OF SLING THERE WAS NO VISIBLE SYMPTOM AFTER THE SECOND YEAR. THE PROBABILITY OF STIMULATION IN THE ANTERIOR-POSTERIOR REPAIR CASES WAS INCREASED.
CONCLUSION: SLING METHOD TREATMENT CONCLUDED THAT NO PROBABILITY OF THE SYMPTOMS RETURN AFTER TWO YEARS BEYOND THE OPERATION.
