Abstract: 

This paper deal with the leaching process for zinc oxides from Mehdiabad, Yazd . In this investigation the most important parameters were examined and optimized. The ore contained hemimorphite and smithsonite minerals zinc, Iron and manganes were 7, 28 and 7.6 percent respectively. The leaching tests were carried out in rolling bottles and mixing tanks. In tank leaching, the parameters (acid concentration, solid percent, time of reaction and particle size) were optimized acording to Taguchi method. At the optimum, 77.5% of zinc was recovered by acid leaching.
