Abstract: 

PROPOSE: BPH IS ACOMMON DISEASE IN MEN. TODAY MANY NONINVASIVE TREATMENT SUCH AS ANDROGEN DEPRIVATION IS USED FOR THIS DISEASE. WE EVALUATED THE EFFECT OF DECAPEPTYL A LHRH_AGONIST ON BPH.
METHODS & MATERIALS: 30 MEN WITH SYMPTOM OF BPH WERE EVALUATED. ALL PATIENT HAD HISTORY TAKING, PHYSICAL EXAMINATION, PSA, SONOGRAPHY, UROFLOWMETRY AND AUA SYMPTOM SCORE. THEN DECAPEPTYL INJECTION WAS DON FOR PATIENT MONTHLY FOR 6 MONTH.
RESULTS: THE AVERAGE OF MAXIMUM FLOW RATE, THE AVERAGE OF PROSTATE SIZE AND THE AVERAGE OF AUA SYMPTOM SCORE WERE 10.7+/-5.8, 45.4+/-9.4, 23.6+/-3.8 BEFORE AND 16.9+/-3.7, 38.9+/-6.6, 23.6+/-3.8 AFTER TREATMENT RESPECTIVELY DISCUSSION & CONCLUSION: INJECTION OF DECAPEPTYL A LHRH-AGONIST MONTHLY FOR 6 MONTH CAN REDUCE SYMPTOM SCORE AND INCREASE MAXIMUM FLOW RATE IN BPH. (P<0.05)
