Abstract:

BACKGROUND: SPINAL DYSRAPHISMS IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF NEUROPATHIC BLADDER IN PEDIATRIC GROUP. BECAUSE OF ITS FREQUENCY (1/1000 LIVE BIRTH) PRE AND POST OPERATIVE EVALUATION OF THESE PATIENTS IS IMPORTANT.
WE MEASURED LEAK POINT PRESSURE (LPP) IN 24 PATIENTS WITH SPINAL DYSRAPHISM PRE AND POST OPERATION.
RESULTS: PRE OPERATIVE UDS WAS REVEALED LPP>40CMH2O IN 25% 0F CASES, 30-40 CMH2O IN 25% AND LESS THAN 30 CMH2O IN 50% 0F PATIENTS.25% SHOWED SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN UDS AFTER UNTHETERING. ONLY ONE PATIENT HAD DETERIORATION IN UDS AFTER SURGERY.
CONCLUSION: PATIENTS WITH SPINAL DYSRAPHISM NEEDS CLOSE OBSERVATION SPECIALLY WITH FOCUS IN LOWER GU. UDS IS AN ESSENTIAL PART IN PRE AND POST OPERATIVE EVALUATION OF THESE GROUP.
