Abstract: 

More than 50% the total cost in surface mining is the ore transportioncost. Study in sufian mine shows that a noneffeciont use of type and the number of trucks cause an unnecessary increase in the total cost. Therefore, simulation method was used to reduce the cost of loading and dumping based on an appropriate allocation of trucks, considering different capacities of loader, trucks and crushers. One computer program was developed for the simulation process. This program used the statistical specifications of the input data by sampling the loading, hauling and dumping times in each path. In this simulation method, the program performs the simulation process for all possible cases of allocation the trucks to the hauling paths, using the number and type of the trucks. A complete report of the operating cost, production, etc. is provided for all simulation performed. Considering the minimum production needed program is cable of suggesting the must appropriate truck, loader allocation with the minimum cost. In addition the function on the system for different distribution and if needed apply his desired changes and see the results. When this simulation method was used the existing condition in the sufian cement complex, the results showed a cost reduction up to 17.
