Abstract:

Project consists of many processes and activities that must be executed on time. So, project schedule is one of the most important factors in the project management. There are several methods to estimate activity duration and schedule development.
Diagramming methods such as Critical path method (CPM), Program evaluation review technique (PERT) and Graphical evaluation and review technique (GERT) are commonly used in the project management. In the CPM has been supposed that the estimation of the activity is deterministic, but this estimation in the PERT is probabilistic. GERT diagram is useful for projects that have conditional activities, they can execute or not.
Many conditional factors involve in the mine projects, especially in exploration phase. Because of uncertainty in the activity duration and project process, must be applied tools and techniques to improve planning, controlling and executing processes.
