Abstract: 

Plane waves are scattered when incident with the complex boundaries such as underground cavities or tunnels. Waves scattering was studied for various cases in continuous media. The Knowledge of the waves scattering in the saturated porous media is yet limited. In this paper, a semi-analytical solution for the two-dimensional scattering and diffraction of plane SH waves by tunnels of arbitrary shape in a saturated porous medium is presented. The wave field for arbitrary geometry is computed numerically by the method of weighted residues. At last a parametric study of scattering of plane SH waves by tunnels of circular shape is presented.
