Abstract: 

The most important objectives of the government in mining sector are improvement of efficiency, reduction of production costs, and judgment of the real added value. Accurate and quick information on quality and quantity of mineral products could improve bench marking against global development indexes and the goals of national development. On the other hand, mining accidents result in economic losses, labour injury and losses of working hours. Documentation, accumulation, processing and presentation of accidents data on a national scale, can illuminate grounds of occurrence, total number, frequency, severity and the real cost of them, leading to feasible mitigation and prevention procedures.
An increase in number of mines and the rate of production, followed by increasing the total number of accidents, conventional procedures for process of accidents data at national orders are not applicable. In this article practical application of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) for management of mining accidents data has been explaind. Accordingly, the consepts of “Databses” and “Database Management Systems” (DBMS) have been used to draw an efficient methodology scheme. Therefore, the necessity, stages of plan, and characteristics of a batabase management system for mining accidents has been explained. The system provides unlimited capacity for documentation, accumulation, processing and presentation of mining accident data. One of the most important objectives of this pocedure is development of knowledge for accident prevention and mitigation based on mining accidents data.
