Abstract: 

Introduction: Different cardiovascular anti-arrhythmic effects have been reported by Crataegus monogyna. the aims of the present study are to the determine 1) the protective roles of the hydroalcoholic extract of Crataegus monogyna in experimental model of the atrial fibrillation in isolated AV-Nodal of rabbit 2) to determinate role of adrenreceptor in the protective effects of hydroalcoholic extract.
Material and method: Premature stimulation protocols (recovery, wenkbakh, fibrillation AF and concealment zone) were used to quantify electrophysiological properties of isolated AV-Nodal of rabbit in two groups (n=17). In the
first group (n=10) all stimulation protocol applied in the presence of different concentrations of Crataegus and in the second group (n=7), all protocols were repeated at the presence of nadolol (2μm) hydroalcoholic extract of cratagus (15, 30 mg/l). All results have been shown as Mean±SE.
Results: hydroalcoholic Crataegus monogyna caused significant of the nodal refractoriness. In the high concentration of cratagus caused significant increase in the mean H-H (from 220±5.4 to 284±11.1 msec) and zone of concealment in the present of the nadolol the effect of cratagus on the conduction time of refractoriness was privented alsoat th presence of nadolol atrial anti fibrations effects of cratagus concelled.
