Since blood is known as the main feeding element to all human cells, the belief that altering in blood specification can affect cell's functions were considered extensively by researchers for many years. In this research, relationship between occurrence of Brain Tumor and different types of Blood Groups is investigated.
MATERIAL AND METHOD: In this retrospractive study, 61 Brain Tumor patients admitted in Bo Ali, Loghman and Shohadaye Tajrish Hospitals until spring 2009 were reviewed for their blood types, gender and age.
RESALTS: (32.9%) of patients with Brain Tumor were in group A, (23.1%) group B, (7.4%) group AB and (36.6%) group O. The results shows that patients with Blood Group AB were significantly (p<0.001) lower in number in comparison to other 3 Blood Groups.
DISCUSSION: In other researches relationship between Blood Group and Personality or some other diseases were suggested. Only one research has shown a relationship between Blood Group A and Craniopharyngioma Tumor. It seems that a relationship also exists between the Blood Group and Brain Tumor.
