Abstract

 INTRODUCTION: THE PHENOTYPIC CHANGES IN ADIPOSE TISSUE TO TRAINING ARE A NEW THEORY (1). HOWEVER, KNOWLEDGE OF CELLULAR – MOLECULAR MECHANISM FOR THE PHENOTYPIC CHANGES NOT HAVING A CLEAR MEANING (2 & 3). THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY WAS DETERMINED TO THE EFFECT OF HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING (HIIT) AND PILATES ON LEVELS OF IRISIN AND INSULIN RESISTANCE IN OVERWEIGHT WOMEN.MATERIALS AND METHODS: THIS STUDY WAS A QUASI-EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH WITH A PRE-POST TESTING. TWENTY-ONE OVERWEIGHT WOMEN WITH 29.55 YEARS OLD AFTER VO2MAX TESTING DIVIDED INTO TWO GROUPS: HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING (N=12) AND PILATES (N=9) GROUPS. THE FIRST GROUP PERFORMED ONE BOUT FOR 30 S (15 S WITH 120 % OF MAXIMUM AEROBIC SPEED AND 15 S REST). THE SECOND GROUP PERFORMED ONE BOUT OF PILATES. AFTER SECOND BLOOD SAMPLING, DATA ANALYSIS PERFORMED AT 0.05 LEVEL.RESULTS: RESULTS OF THIS STUDY HAVE SHOWN THAT IRISIN LEVELS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED AFTER EXERCISE ONLY IN HIIT GROUP (P<0.05). IMMEDIATELY AND 7 WEEKS AFTER HIIT LIPID PROFILE AND BODY COMPOSITION WERE DECREASED (P<0.05).CONCLUSION: BASE ON THE FINDINGS LEVELS OF IRISIN WAS INCREASE IN OVERWEIGHT WOMEN. IN ADDITION, IRISIN PLAY A CRITICAL ROLE ON THE PHENOTYPIC CHANGES OF ADIPOSE TISSUE IN LONG TIME (3).
