ON WAY FOR OPTIMIZATION ENERGY USAGE IN HEAT TRANSFER SYSTEMS IS TO INCREASE RATE OF HEAT TRANSFER IN THESE SYSTEMS. IN THIS STUDY EFFECT OF AN ELECTRIC FIELD ON FLUID FLOW AND TEMPERATURE FIELD IN A TWO DIMENSIONAL DUCT WITH SPECIFIC BOUNDARY CONDITION WITH LAMINAR AIR FLOW AND ITS EFFECT ON HEAT TRANSFER IS INVESTIGATED. FOR THIS MATTER, EQUATIONS OF CONTINUITY, MOMENTUM AND ENERGY FOR FLUID FLOW AND EQUATIONS OF ELECTRIC CURRENT AND POISSON’S EQUATION FOR ELECTRIC FIELD WITH FINITE VOLUME METHOD HAS BEEN SOLVED. BECAUSE OF INDEPENDENCE OF ELECTRIC FIELDS FROM FLUID FLOW, FIRST ELECTRIC EQUATIONS HAVE BEEN SOLVED. WE USE ELECTRIC SOLUTION RESULTS FOR CALCULATION OF BODY FORCES IN MOMENTUM EQUATIONS. IN THIS WORK ENHANCEMENT OF HEAT TRANSFER FROM ONE WALL IN THE DUCT WITH PLATE AND WIRE ELECTRODES HAVE BEEN STUDIED AND RESULTS IMPLY INCREASE OF HEAT TRANSFER.
