Abstract: 

A NUMERICAL SCHEME FOR SLIP FLOW REGIME IN A TWO-DIMENSIONAL RECTANGULAR CAVITY IS DEVELOPED. THE BASSET THEORY IS USED TO CALCULATE SLIP VELOCITY ON THE WALLS. THE CODE USES THE SIMPLE METHOD AND COLLOCATED GRID TO SOLVE THE GOVERNING FLOW EQUATIONS. FOR EVALUATION OF THE CODE, THE FULLY DEVELOPED SLIP FLOW IN A TWO DIMENSIONAL CHANNEL IS SIMULATED. A GOOD AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CODE RESULTS AND THE ANALYTICAL SOLUTION [2] IS OBSERVED. THE SIMULATION OF RAREFIED FLOW IN CAVITY SHOWS THAT PRESSURE REDUCTION CAUSES THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE EDGES CIRCULATIONS. BUT, THE POSITION OF THE MAIN CENTRAL CIRCULATION IS NOT AFFECTED BY PRESSURE REDUCTION.
