Abstract: 

Stomach cancer is the second prevalent cancer in Iran and is one of the main reasons of mortality due to cancers in the world .Results of research have shown that, secretory substances of cancerous cells have changed in the process of cancerization. The purpose of this study is comparing the diffusion manner of acidic Mucosubstances with increasing malignancy degrees in order to find useful diagnostic markers and choose the best therapeutic method. Tissue samples of 40 stomach adenocarcinoma were selected from Pathology Department of Imam Reza Hospital in Mashhad , Iran and were stained with Alcian Blue (pH 1 and pH 2.5) for sulfated and carboxylated Mucosubstances respectively along with positive and negative controls. Inspecting the quantity of accepting stain in pH 2.5, showed that the amount of carboxylatedMucosubstances decreases in tumor tissues along with decreasing of differentiation degrees. Absence of positive respond to Alcian Blue pH 1 in different degrees of tumor tissues implied that sulfated Mucosubtances don’t exist in the process of cancerization in gastric gland cells which was the same as the normal tissues. In conclusion, with incline of malignancy degrees, gastric gland cells are affected by changes which result in deduction ofcarboxylated Mucosubstances production in gastric glands along with the increase of dedifferentiation in these cells. No change was happened in the process of cancerization of gastric gland cells to make them secret sulfated Mucosubstances.
