Effects of adding silver nanoparticles on thermal conductivity and viscosity of poly-alpha-olefin fluid

In this work, the silver nanoparticles effects on viscosity and thermal conductivity of silver-poly alpha olefin nanofluid were studied. Silver nanoparticles in different sizes and with various concentrations spread over the base fluid of poly alpha olefin and thermal conductivity were studied. Also, thermal conductivity was measured at different temperature conditions. In addition, the impact of nanoparticles on the viscosity of the fluid was measured at different concentrations. The thermal conductivity and viscosity of nanofluids increase with increasing volumetric concentration of silver nanoparticles. In addition, the thermal conductivity of nanofluid increases and the viscosity of nanofluid decreases with increasing temperature. Also, the thermal conductivity decreases with increasing nanoparticles size.
