Abstract:

From the early times, colors have played an important role in developing poetic images, and colorful images are the realistic and sensory aspects among poets. Poets have used colorful words to explore and explain the relationship between poetic images and sometimes they have used colorful words to express their own thoughts. In the meantime, modernist poets like Nazik Al-Malaika who made a great change in Arabic contemporary poems by breaking traditional forms of old poems, paid special attention to colors like other Arabic contemporary poets. Colors appear in different forms in the poems of Nazik Al-Malaika. Among them, we can refer to the variety of color, the ruin of color, the coherence between colors and the description of colors. The poet's great attention to colors, different meanings, symbolic implications and their beauties show that she has had an intelligent look at the moments of life and the nature around her. She was impressed by events, and social and political changes. The present study investigates the shaped values of colors in the poems of Nazik Al-Malaika. The method of this research is descriptive-analytic.
