Abstract: 
The Sequential Batch Reactors (SBR) process is considered as a simple unit providing a high removal rate in biological treatment of most effluents. Low economical investments and small land requirement are its additional advantages. These all are very interesting for countries such as Iran where there is a lacks of sewage treatment facilities and many of the industrial plants are situated in the urban areas. Metal machining requires, a fluid in order to both lubricate and cool the tool and work piece. In most operations the fluid used is an oil-water emulsion. This paper reports on, SBR piolt experiments ivolving the treatment of such aqueouse effluents. The results showed, the reaction time depends to So/Xo ratio. The COD removal efficiency was achieved about 90%.
