The essential oil extracted from the soft coral of Sinularia sp. have been extracted by soxhlet and analyzed by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC–MS). The principal compounds were found to be d-Cadinene (12.4%), a-terpinene (10.7%) and a-Muurolene (8.3%). It is worth mentioning the presence of sesquiterpenes and diterpenes as main compounds of the essential oil. This is the first report on the essential oil of this species.
