Abstract:

Present research aimed to investigate the Relationship between self- efficacy and mental health. To this aim, 300 high school boys and girls in the third grade were chosen through cluster sampling. The tools employed in this research were as follows: self- efficacy scale (Sharer, et.al 1982) and symptom checklist- 90- Rivis scale (SCL- 90- R). The collected data was analyzed using t- test for comparing the two sex groups and correlation. Results revealed that there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and mental health and low levels of self- efficacy were accompanied by high levels of pathological symptoms. It became obvious that there is not a significant difference between self-efficacy and mental health in girls and boys. Finally, the research confirmed the relationship between self-efficacy and mental health.
