Abstract: 
The optimum cut off grade is one of the important parameters in open - pit mine design. The optimum cut off grade is causing to increase the profit or Net prest value (N P V). In recent decades the increasing N P V for open - pit mine operation is considered to be non-linear programming problem and Lane algorithm is applied for this purpose. In simple ore deposit, based up on Lane algorithm it is possible to calculate the optimum cut off grade with regard to mine, mill, refinery capacities, time value of money, and variable ore grade by analytical method. But analytical method is not used in complex situation with objective function of sharp boundary. This paper shows how eliminated methods such as Gold section method can be use to calculate optimum cut off grade with high accuracy and shorten time in comply conditions.
