Abstract: 

The purpose of the present research is to study of the relationship between the different powers applied by the managers and the methods of dealing with conflict in the secondary and high schools in the city of Namin in the academic year of 1388-89. The method of research was descriptive and survey type. The population of the study consisted of all secondary and high school teachers, that is, 320 subjects. Using the Morgan Table, 175 subjects were chosen as research sample. The research tools were two researcher-made questionnaires of power and dealing with conflict whose validity was examined using the experts' ideas as well as reliability was tested by Cronbach's Alpha with the indexes of 0.91 and 0.89 for the questionnaires of types of management and conflict management respectively. The results of the study showed that there is a significant relationship between different types of power and the methods of dealing with conflict.  Regarding dealing with conflict, the managers apply the strategies of problem solving, lack of intervention, and control respectively.
