Abstract: 
Here, we examined the effectiveness of cognitive therapy based on mindfulness on weight loss and its psychological complications; Thus, the research sample comprised 48 individuals suffering from obesity who had been selected through the accessibility mode and were divided into 3 groups as experimental (16 individuals provided with eight two-hour MBCT sessions, first control group (17 individuals following a weight-reducing diet plan) and second control group (15 individuals without any plans). Analyzing the obtained data demonstrates that MBCT is effective in losing fat. It’s also worth mentioning that one month of follow-up proved the stability of the results.
