Abstract: 
Today, have extremely been emphasized key missions and functions of the universities, associated with efforts in scientific tasks and functions, social and cultural missions of the universities. Although, educational and research functions of the universities, including production, teaching and spread of knowledge and teaching of expert forces have a special importance but social and cultural functions, including helping to cultural development, historical awareness, cultural capital, social participation and renewal of the society, socialization, spiritual progress, has been become very important; and the necessity of considering to it has been changed to a vital issue. According to the importance and necessity of the subject the general object of the research is study of social and cultural functions of the universities and amount of their fulfillment in view of the students in terms of personal characteristics and social-economic status of their families. Fulfillment of the above object and exact knowing of the problem dimensions is involving of to evaluate of the previous researches and pay attention to the existence theories. The method of research was survey and the theoretical framework was functionalism and theoretical model of AGIL. According to results, there was a significant relationship between the cultural capital and age, the course and discipline of students, spiritual progress, age and discipline of students.
