Abstract: 
The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between personality characteristics and job burnout among faculty members and staffs in Islamic Azad University, Azadshahr Branch. The Study used a Correlation Descriptive Method. To determine the sample size, determination Table Indictor (Morgan and Kerjeci) was used and a sample of 73 persons was chosen from among the total number of 250 of persons through Random Sampling. The five Personality Factors Questionnaire (NEO) and Goldard Job Burnout Questionnaire were used to collect the data. Data was analyzed by use of Pearson Correlation and T-Test for independent group. Results showed that the relationship between extroversion, agreeableness, neuroticism, conscientiousness and job burnout was meaningful with p<0/000 but among openness to experience and job burnout it was meaningless.
