Abstract: 
To evaluate the effect of different methods of cutout on yield and yield components of cotton (Varamin cultivar), an experiment was conducted in Sabzevar Azad University Research Station in 2003. The experiment was carried out as complete randomized block design with four replications. In this experiment different methods of cutout (pix, 1.5 l/ha) at flowering stage, topping at boll formation stage, water stress at boll formation stage) and no cutout, as control were studied. Results showed that cotton yield, lint percent, number of bolls per plant, lint yield, seed yield, number of seed per m2, lint index, seed index and earliness were affected by different methods of cutout. All the above traits except seed index and earliness were highest in Pix, and lowest in water stress treatments. the least. Earliness was faster in Pix, topping and water stress treatments respectively, while slower in control. Finally, Pix and topping treatments are respectively recommended in Sabzevar region.
