In order to study some quantitative traits of rapeseed, 42 F) progenies along with their parents (49 genotypes) were evaluated for combining ability in a simple lattice design. Genetic analysis based on diallel analysis was performed on seed yield, oil yield, oil content (%) and 1000 seed weight. Significance of treatment effect for all studied traits in analysis of variance indicated that there is enough variation for genetic analysis. Analysis of general combining ability revealed that Tower variety had the greatest value of GCA for all studied traits. Study of specific combining ability showed that Yanter Cobra, Cobra A.W. and Yanter A.W. were the best hybrids in all studied traits. Study of additive and dominance model on different traits indicated that this model could be fitted for all traits except for oil yield. For all studied traits h2B was higher than h2N.The highest narrow sense heritability was observed in oil content, while the lowest one for seed yield. Cobra A.W. showed the highest degree of heterosis for seed yield as well as oil yield. The highest degree of heterosis for oil content and 1000 seed weight were observed in A.W. Regeant and Yanter A.W. respectively. The results of genetic analysis revealed that seed yield and oil content were largely governed by additive gene effect while the 1000 seed weight governed by both additive and non- additive gene effects.
