Persian language is derived from Middle Persian or Pahlavi which itself is derived from Old Persian. The Manichaean Middle Persian is a language in which Manichaean manuscripts (Turfan Material) have been written. Parthian is also one of the western Middle Iranian Languages. Parthian with which Manichaean manuscripts have been written is called Manichaean Parthian.
The primary concern of this research is to investigate verb structures in Manichaean Middle Persian and Parthian and to study how verbs in these two languages have derived from Old Iranian form.
