Bible exegesis in Christianity has a long history behind. Jesus was in fact, the first interpreter in Christian tradition. To make a harmony between the Old Testament and the New one,. he interpreted certain versus of the Jewish scriptures. The history of exegesis in Christianity is going to be discussed here, in three different schools of thought: Alexandrian School follows the allegorical method; Antioch School, interprets the Bible literally, while Roman (Latin) School follows the amalgamation of the previous ones. Each school is represented by Church Fathers of its own.
