Abstract:

The purpose of this article is to study the effects of socio-economic factors (educational level, rural or urban background, economic situation, age) on cultural beliefs (determinism as a negative belief and belief in working hard as a positive one) using statistical methods the writer has obtained following results: those who belong to the traditional Bazaar are more deterministic compared to those in Modern Bazaar. Although the two groups are aware of the importance of working hard, those at a lower educational level are more deterministic. Besides, other factors such as mass media affect this determinism. In sum, it can be said that negative and positive beliefs depend on social variables, and that in traditional social systems negative beliefs are ore prevalent than positive ones.
