Abstract

 OBJECTIVE: NEUROPATHIC PAIN IS A PROGRESSIVE NERVOUS SYSTEM DISEASE THAT RESULTS FROM POORLY DEFINED NEUROPHYSIOLOGICAL AND NEUROCHEMICAL CHANGES. ADIPOSE DERIVED MESENCHYMAL STEM CELLS (AD-MSC) ARE MULTIPOTENT MESENCHYMAL STEM CELLS THAT HAVE NEUROTROPHIC PROPERTIES AND THE ABILITY TO DIFFERENTIATE INTO MULTIPLE LINEAGES. THIS STUDY WAS CONDUCTED TO EXAMINE THE THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL OF THE AD-MSC IN PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY INDUCED BY CHRONIC CONSTRICTION INJURY OF SCIATIC NERVE IN RATS.
