Abstract: 

the aim of the present research was to conduct a comparative investigation of personality traits and learning modes in basic, engineering and human sciences' students of Islamic Azad University in Mazandaran province. The research method is causative-comparative (Ex Post Facto). 300 students of Islamic Azad University in Mazandaran province were randomly selected and personality inventory (NEO PI-R) and Kolb's learning styles inventory (LS I) were administered to them. In order to analyze the data, ANOVA were used. Results indicated that there are differences among means of NEO factors (extroversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness) and learning modes, (concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, active Experimentation).
