Abstract: 

In this study, the relation between meta- cognitive, self handicapping in male students of Ahwaz high school are considered.325 male students were selected in the multi stage cluster form. In this study, meta cognitive questionarie, self efficacy questionarie (GSE) parenting styles questionaries of winter Bottom and set of adjusted learning pattern scales (PAIS) were used. Descriptive statististics ways, correlation coefficient of Pearson and multivariate regression, were used for data analysis. the result of this study showed that its observed meaning ful negative relation between meta cognitive strategies and self handicapping of students, there self handicapping decreased, its observed meaningful negative relation between self efficacy and academic self- handicapping. there is meaningful positive relation between parenting styles in three level (independence learning, mastery learning and care learning) with academic self-handicadicaping, The variables of meta-cognition strategies and age of using independence learning parenting styles are anticipant for students’ academic self-handicapping.
