EVALUATION OF TARAVA POROUS PIPES PERFORMANCE

Abstract: 

For evaluation of hydraulic characteristics of "TARA VA" plastic porous pipes, six meters of this pipes were tested under pressure ranging from 20 10 100 KPa . The emission rate was comprised and evaluated among three treatments including unused dry porous pipe, unused soaked porous pipe and used porous pipe treatments. The result indicate that emission rate vs. pressure variations is sensible and approximately a linear function of pressure - also emission rate of unused soaked pipe is always lower than unused dry type in the constant pressure. besides the emission rate in used porous pipe was very low.
For determination of the manufacturers coefficient of variations (CV) and distribution uniformity parameters of three above treatments, emission rate from 20 segments of 0.3 m length were collected and evaluated. This values in dicak that CV value of the unused soaked porous pipe is below 0.1 (The range of good by ASAE Standard) in The most of the pressure were tested. This values for unused dry porous pipe and used porous pipe were 0.1 to 0.2 (The range of Average) and over 0.3 (The range of unacceptable) respectively. For other distribution parameters, the results were similar. The results indicate that subsurface irrigation by porous pipes because of decreasing emission rate and distribution uniformity are not very efficient.
